Save The Date: Friday 23rd March, The Office is dead - Long live the Office

What better way to cellebrate our new status as a Herman Miller Dealer Partner than an inspitaional, thought provoking seminar full of insight with Mark Catchlove, Director of the Herman Miller Knowledge and Insight Group.

The Office is dead - Long live the Office
At a time when there is an increased focus on the digital workplace, what role does the physical workplace play and are its days numbered? What are the pros and cons of virtual and physical working? Is coworking here to stay and will it impact the way corporations consume space? We discuss this subject looking at internal and external research sources from around the globe
“The business of people talking to each other in offices is a very serious consideration. It is by far the most expensive achievement of offices: the grouping of people that allows conversational exchange" Robert Propst - 1968

Hope you can join us in Celebrating 35 Years of Albany
& the vast expansion of the Workpattern facility

We have so much to show you, talk about and celebrate, so we would be delighted if you can join us on 6th October for the launch of the North’s largest dedicated showspace and our own living project dedicated to activity based working.

Our doors will be open from Midday through 'til 7pm, for you to see first hand what we have created, bringing together contract furniture brands from the world's leading manufacturers of today in an environment that we are so proud of...

...But this is only part of the story, join us on the day for the rest!

We are also delighted to be hosting two seminars through the day that promise to bring you the very latest research from Herman Miller. We have had a glimpse of this new seminar and can’t begin to explain how excited we are to be able to share this for the first time. Whilst we have a large and very special space set up for the seminars, numbers are limited so please reserve your place below.

Seminar: 'The Case for the Living Office.'

In businesses around the world the workforce is changing. The expectations of workers are changing. How work gets done is changing. The tools of work are changing. The work itself is changing. There is a new landscape of work.

At Herman Miller, we are working with the world's leading thinkers and designers to apply a greater understanding of people—how we think, how we are motivated, and how we create and collaborate—to this new landscape of work.

In this seminar we will for the first time share some case studies where we employed the Leesman Index as a research tool before and after the project to understand what makes a Living Office.

Made For Sharing 3, NDC 14 May 2015.

Made For Sharing event: 14 May 8:30am to 11am.

Discover how design can transform the way your business thinks and works.

It’s a state of mind. It’s a considered approach to streamlining and growing your business. And it’s how you’re going to set yourself head and shoulders above your competitors.

Made For Sharing will help you understand the benefits of workplace design and provide you with the opportunity to find out how it can:

  • Support your business objectives and plan for growth
  • Enable us all to do our best work and maximise productivity
  • Promote wellbeing and a happy and empowered workforce
  • Inspire creativity and innovation
  • Encourage collaboration balanced with the ability to focus on tasks

The event is free and you will meet with like-minded people from business and the local design community to share experiences and make new connections.

The speakers include:

Steve Dickson from Faulkner Brown Architects who will provide an example of how the design process has significantly improved the operating efficiencies of a business that has been honoured as the exemplar civic office.

Mark Catchlove from Herman Miller who will discuss human dynamics and work and, based on evidence, just how vital this is to business survival and growth.

We want to make the North East workspaces among the best and most creative in the world. Join us, and Design Network North, on 14 May at the Northern Design Centre to find out more.
