Dunedin House

A Longstanding Partnership

We have a strong history of collaboration with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council through our parent company, Albany Contract Furniture. Our engagement with the council for Dunedin House stems from a workplace insight event we hosted in 2019 with Herman Miller and NEPO. This event, designed for local authorities, explored the latest thinking in New Ways of Working within the public sector.

Workplace Strategy & Pilot Spaces

Following the insight event, we partnered with the council to trial pilot spaces within their existing main building. These pilots tested different workplace settings tailored to modern working practices, ensuring the council’s needs were met in a practical and effective manner. This early-stage collaboration allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the organisation, its culture, and the activities of its staff.

Developing Dunedin House

Building on this foundation, we worked closely with the council’s senior leadership team, running further workshops to fully explore and inform workplace settings. Our role continued as part of the project team working closely with the clients architects, M&E consultants and project managers to shape and deliver the new office environment at Dunedin House.

During the process, we worked closely with P&HS Architects and their interiors team to refine key elements of the space, ensuring it not only functioned efficiently but also reflected the council’s identity and aspirations.

Delivery & Implementation

After contributing to the project’s strategic and design phases, In 2024, we managed and carried out the full FF&E installation. The result is a modern, flexible office environment that supports collaboration, productivity, and the evolving needs of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

Dunedin House stands as a testament to the value of strategic workplace design, long-term collaboration, and a shared vision for the future of public sector working environments.
